Wendy Lyon

Biography

Wendy Lyon is a Canadian actress whose work has been mostly in film and television. Born in Canada, she got her start on the small screen with a part as Prissy Andrews in the 1985 miniseries Anne of Green Gables, then played Rebecca Simms across several seasons of The Campbells, from 1986 to 1990. Her first feature role came in 1987, when she took the lead in the horror film Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II, playing a teenager possessed by a vengeful spirit; the critic Betsy Sherman singled out that performance for praise. She stayed busy in television over the next decade, and in 1995 she voiced Queen Serenity in the animated Sailor Moon. Later came supporting turns in Focus (2001), the independent comedy Childstar (2004), Regression (2015) and the fantasy film The Shape of Water (2017) from Guillermo del Toro, as well as a multi-episode arc on the political thriller Designated Survivor in 2019.
