Biography

Wendie Jo Sperber was an American actress who began her screen career at 19 with a small part in Corvette Summer (1978) and quickly became a fixture of Robert Zemeckis comedies, appearing in I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978) as a Beatles-obsessed fan and in Used Cars (1980). Steven Spielberg cast her in 1941, and she worked steadily in features through the 1980s: Bachelor Party (1984), Moving Violations (1985) and Back to the Future (1985), in which she played Linda McFly, a role she reprised in Back to the Future Part III (1990). On television she was a regular on Bosom Buddies with Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari, then on Private Benjamin, and later starred in Babes and had a supporting part on Hearts Afire. She also guest starred on Will & Grace and voiced a character on American Dad.
