Ulf Pilgaard

Ulf Pilgaard was a Danish actor whose career in comedy and revue theater spanned more than forty years. He went to school in Frederiksberg and made his stage debut in 1963 at Alléscenen with the Collage group. He performed in Cirkusrevyen from 1968 to 1972 and in Tivolirevyen from 1973 to 1985, with a spell at Holstebrorevyen in between, and returned to Cirkusrevyen from 1986. For two decades he also appeared in Danish Radio's satirical programs Hey-Hey and Wow Wow, and he was long paired on stage and screen with Claus Ryskjær. Audiences knew him for his parodies of well-known Danes, among them Queen Margrethe. His film work included a major role in Ole Bornedal's Nattenvagten. He won a Bodil and a Robert for his leading performance in Farligt Venskab in 1996, and was named Dirch of the Year in 2006. He died in 2024.
