Tracy Wright
Biography
Tracy Wright was a Canadian actress known for her work on stage and in film and for her presence in Canada's avant-garde. Born in Toronto, she helped found the Augusta Company there in 1989 with Daniel Brooks and Don McKellar, and she worked often with them and with writers and directors including Nadia Ross, Daniel MacIvor and Sky Gilbert. Bruce McDonald's Highway 61 (1991) was among her first major film roles, and she later appeared in When Night Is Falling (1995), Last Night (1998), Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005) and Monkey Warfare (2006). Her television work included The Kids in the Hall and Twitch City. Trigger and This Movie Is Broken, two more McDonald films released in 2010, turned out to be her last. She shared the Best Actress award at the ACTRA Toronto Awards in 2011 with her Trigger co-star Molly Parker, and both women were nominated for a Genie Award for Best Actress.
