Tim Colceri
Biography
Tim Colceri, an American actor and comedian, is best known for his part in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (1987), playing the door gunner whose lines became much quoted, one of them later used as the byline for Tropic Thunder. He was first cast as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman before R. Lee Ermey took over the role. Born in Canton, Ohio, and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, he studied physical education at Arizona State University, hoping to coach wrestling, and played professional golf after graduating. He then spent three years working at a restaurant near the Miami airport and later became a flight attendant for Braniff Airlines. A friend taking an acting class encouraged him to try acting, which is how he entered the profession.
