Biography

Tamera Mowry-Housley is an American actress and television host who also worked as a singer earlier in her career. Born in Gelnhausen, she moved to California in childhood so she and her twin sister Tia could act. After commercials and small parts, the two landed the sitcom Sister, Sister, which ran from 1994 to 1999, and Mowry played Tamera Campbell. She also had a role as Dr. Kayla Thornton on Strong Medicine, a medical drama, and headlined the Disney Channel movies Twitches (2005) and Twitches Too (2007) with her sister. Her reality show Tia & Tamera aired from 2011 to 2013. From 2013 to 2020 she co-hosted the daytime talk show The Real, and in 2018 she and her cohosts won a Daytime Emmy in the outstanding entertainment talk show host category. She later appeared in Hallmark films such as The Santa Stakeout (2021) and Inventing the Christmas Prince (2022).
