Susannah Harker

Susannah Harker is an English actress whose work spans film, television, theater and radio, moving between contemporary and classic material. Born in London, she gained notice in the early 1990s as journalist Mattie Storin in the first House of Cards, a part that brought a BAFTA TV Award nomination in 1991. She also appeared with Clive Owen in Chancer and played Dinah Morris in a 1991 adaptation of Adam Bede. Her role as Jane Bennet came in the 1995 Pride and Prejudice, and she was later Emma Fitzgerald in the BBC series Heat of the Sun (1998). On stage she acted at the Royal National Theatre in 2005 in Simon Stephens's On the Shore of the Wide World, and her stage credits also include Charles Wood's Jingo, where she took the role of Gwendoline at the Finborough Theatre in 2008. She has also worked in audio drama and BBC Radio 4 productions, including Ibsen's John Gabriel Borkman in 2015.
