Biography

Siu-Lung Leung was a Hong Kong martial artist and actor who became a kung fu star in the 1970s and 1980s. Born in Hong Kong, he learned martial arts from his father at the Cantonese Opera and later studied karate and kung fu. In the early 1970s, producer Ng See-Yuen gave him his first film role in Little Superman, which brought him recognition. International audiences knew him as Bruce Leung or Bruce Liang, and he made only a few Bruce Lee imitation films, including The Dragon Lives Again (1977) and Bruce and the Iron Finger (1979) with Bruce Li. His martial arts, acrobatics and humor drew comparisons to Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, and he also worked as an action choreographer on films such as The Tattoo Connection and Rich & Famous. After a long absence, he returned in 2004 as the Beast in Stephen Chow's Kung Fu Hustle (2004), his first villain role. He died in 2026.
