Serena Reeder

Serena Reeder is an American actress and screenwriter who works in theater, film, and television. She grew up in Washington, D.C., where she studied theater at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, and she later trained at the Juilliard School, graduating with a B.F.A. in 2005. Her first professional part came while she was still a student: Jim Sheridan cast her as 50 Cent's mother in Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005), her film debut and her first time working with Viola Davis, whose daughter she played. She took the part of Viola Davis's daughter again in The Architect (2006), then appeared as Morgan Freeman's daughter in The Bucket List (2007), a comedy-drama directed by Rob Reiner and starring Jack Nicholson. Her other screen credits include Weapons (2007) and The Brooklyn Heist. The Tea Party, her directorial debut, was picked for the short film competition at the 2013 Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
