Biography
Samantha Mumba is an Irish-Zambian-American singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, model, and television presenter who was discovered at age 15 by Irish music executive Louis Walsh on the Irish talent show Let Me Entertain You. After signing with Polydor Records, she became widely known in 2000 when her first single, Gotta Tell You, charted inside the top five in Ireland, Britain, and America, and her debut album of the same name later reached the top ten in Ireland and the UK. She has placed seven singles in Ireland's top five and earned six top ten hits in Britain. Her screen debut came in The Time Machine (2002), playing Mara opposite Guy Pearce, and she earned Teen Choice Award nominations for breakout music artist and for that film performance. She also appeared in Spin the Bottle (2003) and in Irish independent films, and returned to music in 2013.
