Sally Fraser
Biography
Sally Fraser was an American actress who worked in television and in many films and became best known for the low-budget science fiction pictures she made in the 1950s. Born in Williston, North Dakota, she grew up in Canoga Park, a Los Angeles suburb, and sang on local broadcasts before drama lessons and stage work followed. On television she appeared in the Western series Annie Oakley and The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok, and in a 1954 A Christmas Carol she was Belle and the Spirit of Christmas Past. She played the older daughter in a Father Knows Best pilot. Typecast in cheap science fiction, she was a woman taken over by aliens in It Conquered the World (1956) and the monster's sister in War of the Colossal Beast (1958). She also appeared in Earth vs. the Spider (1958) and Giant from the Unknown (1958), had a small part in North by Northwest, and worked into the 1960s.
