Robert Addie

Robert Addie was an English film and theater actor who trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art but left after a year when he won the role of Mordred in Excalibur (1981). That part, Prince Mordred in John Boorman's film, became his most prominent film role. He also appeared as Delahay in Another Country (1984). On television, he starred as Stalky in a 1982 BBC adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's Stalky & Co., played Sir Charles Kirkgordon in I'll Take Manhattan and appeared in A Hazard of Hearts (1987), and gained national exposure as Sir Guy of Gisburne in Robin of Sherwood from 1984 to 1986. A skilled horseman who had worked as a professional polo player, he often appeared in medieval historical dramas. He acted on stage in Journey's End and Conduct Unbecoming, and later returned to touring fringe theater, writing and performing in productions including Acts of Revenge.
