Rob Zabrecky

Rob Zabrecky is an American actor, magician, author and songwriter who started as the frontman and bassist of the Los Angeles group Possum Dixon, which he played with from 1989 to 1999. Raised in Burbank, California, he took up magic in the mid-1990s and became a regular at the Magic Castle in Hollywood in 2002, later receiving eight Academy of Magical Arts awards and being twice chosen by that body as its Lecturer of the Year, once in 2016 and once in 2018. Known for an aberrant magician character that mixes dark humor, mentalism and elongated pauses, he moved into acting in the mid-2000s and has appeared in Lost River (2014), the thriller Decay and A Ghost Story, plus television shows such as Fallout, GLOW and Criminal Minds. He also co-created The Other Side with Zabrecky, a supernatural comedy program, and wrote Strange Cures, a memoir, and The A, B, Z's of Magic.
