Richard Pasco

Richard Pasco was a British actor who worked in theater, film and television. He was born in Barnes, Surrey, in 1926 and died in 2014. He started as a stage-management apprentice at the Q Theatre, then studied at Central School of Speech and Drama and earned a gold medal there, followed by a three-year stint with the Birmingham Repertory Company. His stage career began in 1943, and he worked with companies including the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal Court and the Old Vic. He played Frank Rice in the original production of John Osborne's The Entertainer (1957) and, with Ian Richardson, alternated Richard II and Bolingbroke in John Barton's 1973 RSC staging of Richard II. His films included Room at the Top (1958), Rasputin, the Mad Monk (1966), Sword of Sherwood Forest (1960) and Yesterday's Enemy (1959). On television he played Brutus, Jaques in As You Like It (1979) and Stephen Sorrell in Sorrell and Son (1984).
