Randeep Hooda
Biography
Randeep Hooda is an actor who was born in Daseya, a village in the Rohtak district of Haryana. His first film was Monsoon Wedding (2001), where he played a non-resident Indian. He won the part largely because of his Australian accent rather than his acting skills or looks. Even after a strong performance in that film, he had to wait four years for another project. Ramgopal Verma then cast him in the lead of the gangster film D (2005), which became a turning point in his career and made him a household name across the country. The film was supposedly based on Dawood Ibrahim's life and gave him a grand entry into tinsel town. Drena De Niro produced Karma, Confessions and Holi (2006), in which he also had the lead.
