Quinn Cummings
Biography
Quinn Cummings is an American former actress, entrepreneur and author who came to attention as a child performer. Born in Los Angeles, she was discovered by the cinematographer James Wong Howe and started out in television commercials before landing the part of Lucy McFadden in The Goodbye Girl (1977), a performance that brought her Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for best supporting actress. She was also known for playing Annie Cooper on the television series Family, and later appeared in the sitcom Hail to the Chief. Acting work grew occasional in the late 1980s, when she also worked as a casting agent, and she attended UCLA for two years. Her final screen role came in a 1992 episode of Evening Shade. She has since written several books, including Notes from the Underwire, and created the HipHugger baby carrier.
