Biography

Priscilla Bonner was an American silent film actress who often portrayed innocent, virginal heroines. Born in Washington, D.C., she moved frequently with her family. In 1916, while living in Adrian, Michigan, she answered an open audition for The Romance of Miss Adrian and used her dance skills to secure a role. After moving to Los Angeles, she met Charles Ray, and MGM signed her in 1920, leading to appearances in Homer Comes Home and The Man Who Had Everything (1920) with Jack Pickford. Her other credits included Shadows (1922) with Lon Chaney Sr., April Showers with Colleen Moore, and The Strong Man (1926) with Harry Langdon. In 1925 she appeared in The Red Kimono, a controversial independent feature produced and directed by Dorothy Davenport. Paramount borrowed her in 1927 for the hit It (1927), which starred Clara Bow.
