Pearce Quigley
Biography
Pearce Quigley is an English actor from Salford with extensive stage experience who has also worked in television, film and radio. On stage he appeared in The Seagull at the Royal Court, performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and at the Globe, and took part in Twelfth Night there in 2025. His television roles include the comedy series Happiness from 2001 to 2003 and the drama series Cutting It from 2002 to 2005, and he played Russell in Detectorists from 2014 to 2022. He also appeared in Rovers and The Gentlemen. His films include Millions (2004), The Way Back (2010) and Peterloo (2018). For BBC Radio 4 he plays Will in Alone and appears regularly in Plum House. In 2026 he had the lead in Small Prophets, with its writer and director Mackenzie Crook saying he wanted Quigley in a central role rather than the smaller, sidekick roles Crook had seen him in.
