Paul Burke
Biography
Paul Burke was an American actor best known for leading roles on two 1960s ABC television series, Naked City and 12 O'Clock High. Born in New Orleans, he trained at the Pasadena Playhouse before beginning his film career with a small role in Golden Girl. He guest-starred in Highway Patrol and Men of Annapolis, and in 1956 and 1957 he played Dr. Noah McCann on Noah's Ark, a Jack Webb program about veterinarians. From 1960 to 1963 he starred as Detective Adam Flint in Naked City, earning two Emmy nominations. He then played Joe Gallagher on 12 O'Clock High from 1964 to 1967. His later films included Valley of the Dolls (1967) and The Thomas Crown Affair (1968). On television he had recurring roles in Dynasty between 1982 and 1988 and in Magnum, P.I. between 1981 and 1985 as Rear Admiral Hawkes. He was also a commercial spokesman for RadioShack and Buick.
