Pamela Bellwood

Pamela Bellwood is an American actress who first took an interest in acting after playing Emily in a production of Our Town, then trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse with Sanford Meisner and also studied in London. She played Jill Tanner in Butterflies Are Free in Fort Lauderdale in 1971 and reached Broadway in the same role the following year, taking over from Blythe Danner at the Booth Theatre; that part brought her a Clarence Derwent Award in 1972. Early screen credits included episodes of Paul Sand in Friends and Lovers and Rhoda, and in 1978 she headlined the NBC drama W.E.B. as a television executive. She is best known for Dynasty, joining as an original cast member in 1981 as Claudia Blaisdel Carrington and staying with the series, on and off, until 1986. Her films include Airport '77 (1977), Two-Minute Warning (1976) and The Incredible Shrinking Woman (1981).
