Biography

Nick Ramus was a Blackfoot actor who grew up in Spokane and on the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Montana, and became best known for his television work. He studied chemistry before turning to drama and voice coaching in San Francisco, which led to commercials and then to Los Angeles. He portrayed American Indian and Hispanic characters across a 30-year career, starting with a role in The Wide World of Mystery (1973). His television movies and miniseries included Centennial, The Chisholms, Born to the Wind, Son of the Morning Star and Geronimo, and he had recurring parts in Falcon Crest and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. On film he starred in Windwalker (1980) and appeared in Invasion U.S.A. (1985) and 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up (1995). He also wrote and performed a one-man show, An Evening with Sitting Bull.
