Biography

Morgan Deare is an American actor based in London whose work spans film, television and theater. Born in New Iberia, Louisiana, he sang in his college chorus and taught for several years before settling in London in 1975. His acting career began around 1977 with an invitation to appear in A Kurt Weill Cabaret, and after London fringe and cabaret work and a tour of Annie he went on to West End performances and tours including Fiddler on the Roof, Carousel and Being Tommy Cooper. On screen he debuted in the 1980 short film The Tumour Principle, and he later played Hawk in the 1987 Doctor Who serial Delta and the Bannermen and Arthur in the eleventh series episode Rosa. He voiced Mayor Martinez in the animated series Zorro: Generation Z, and his films include Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Scream for Help (1984), Hyde Park on Hudson (2012), The Callback Queen (2013) and Wild Oats (2016).
