Mike Hegstrand
Biography
Mike Hegstrand was an American professional wrestler who performed as Road Warrior Hawk, the partner of Road Warrior Animal in the Road Warriors, also called the Legion of Doom. Raised in Minneapolis, he was a bouncer when the trainer Eddie Sharkey noticed him, and in 1983 he teamed with Joe Laurinaitis in Georgia Championship Wrestling. In Georgia, Paul Ellering placed them in his Legion of Doom group, and they became the Road Warriors. Their shaved Mohawks and painted faces helped make them a leading tag team. They captured tag team gold in the AWA, the NWA and the WWF, including the WWF World Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam 1991, and Hawk also won the CWA World Heavyweight Championship and two IWGP Tag Team Championships with Power Warrior. He headlined Extreme Championship Wrestling's first November to Remember in 1993. In 2011 the WWE Hall of Fame welcomed him and Animal, and Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum also inducted them.
