Michael Pas

Michaël Pas is an actor born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1966. He earned a master's degree in Dramatic Arts from the Studio Herman Teirlinck in 1989, and before graduation he had already appeared on screen in Love is a dog from Hell, a film by Dominque Deruddere that drew on Charles Bukowski. That same year he took the lead in Robbe De Hert's Blueberry Hill (1989), a role that won him awards in Ghent and Geneva. He built a stage career in Belgium and the Netherlands and in 2006 received a nomination in Amsterdam for the Dutch theater award Louis d'Or for playing August in August, August, August. His film and television credits include a leading part in Stijn Coninx's Daens, which earned an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Picture, and a co-starring role in the Belgian crime series Code 37. In 2011 he became part of the international cast for Lars Von Trier's Nymphomaniac.
