Megan Gale
Biography
Megan Gale is an Australian model and actress who was born in Perth. She became known after winning a modeling competition at 18 and then landing a long-running campaign for Vodafone Italy, which ran from 1999 to 2006 and brought her wide exposure in Italy and Australia. She worked as a runway model for Italian and Australian designers, retired from the catwalk in 2008, and returned to the runway in 2011. On screen, Gale played Fatma in The Water Diviner (2014) and the Valkyrie in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), and she appeared in the romantic comedy I Love You Too (2010) as Francesca Moretti. Earlier, she had film roles in Italian productions, appearing as herself in Christmas Vacation 2000 (1999) and Body Guards (2000). Gale also presented the Sanremo Music Festival in 2001 and hosted Project Runway Australia, where she was a judge and executive producer.

A role that slipped away
In January 2008, word came that Gale was offered Wonder Woman in George Miller's planned movie take on Justice League of America. The project was later put on hold and finally canceled.
A first
Gale retired from runway modeling in January 2008 after 15 years, and her final catwalk outfit was the Wonder Woman costume she was to wear in the shelved Justice League of America film.
Big break
After years of modeling, Gale became famous in 1999 when she was cast in advertisements for the Italian telecom company Omnitel, now Vodafone Italy. She kept appearing in its ads until 2006.
A first
Gale's contract with department store David Jones reached its 10th anniversary in August 2011, the longest held fashion contract in Australia.
Beyond film
In 2001, Gale took on the role of presenter at the Sanremo Music Festival, an event she hosted that year.
