Marilyn Chambers
Biography
Marilyn Chambers was an American adult film actress, model, dancer and singer who starred in the 1972 hardcore feature Behind the Green Door, one of the films that ushered in the porno chic era. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, and raised in Westport, Connecticut, she took modeling jobs while in high school and won a small part in The Owl and the Pussycat (1970). She moved into mainstream film with David Cronenberg's Rabid (1977), and her 1980 adult feature Insatiable outsold every other title in the field in the United States from 1980 to 1982. She also appeared in Las Vegas theater productions, recorded the disco single Benihana, wrote the autobiography My Story, and was named to the AVN and XRCO halls of fame.

In 1975 Chambers wrote an autobiography titled My Story, and in 1977 she co-authored Xaviera Meets Marilyn Chambers with Xaviera Hollander. Warner Communications published both books.
