Margo Stilley
Biography
Margo Stilley is an American actress who moved from modeling into film acting. Born in 1982, she grew up in South Carolina and North Carolina, and she left the South as a teenager, working in Milan for Elite Model Management before settling in London at 18 to act. Her debut, and the part she is most remembered for, came in Michael Winterbottom's 9 Songs (2004), in which she played Lisa; the Guardian called it the most explicit mainstream film made in Britain up to that point, and it screened at Cannes and Sundance. She followed it with a part in the first episode of the comedy Nathan Barley, directed by Chris Morris. Her other credits include How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008), Agatha Christie's Marple (Murder Is Easy) and Hippie Hippie Shake (2009), the BBC Two comedy The Trip (2011) with Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan, and The Royals (2016).

First role
Stilley's first acting job was the lead role of Lisa in Michael Winterbottom's controversial 2004 film 9 Songs, a part she accepted because of her interest in art as a platform.
A role that slipped away
In 2010, Stilley agreed to take the part of Lady Furness in Madonna's film WE, but she renounced the role because of artistic differences.
A change of course
As a teenager, Stilley left the rural South and worked for a short time as a model in Milan with Elite Model Management in February 2001. By the end of that year, at 18, she moved to London to pursue acting.
