Marge Champion
Biography
Marge Champion was an American dancer, actress, and choreographer who began performing as a child under her father, a dance director in Los Angeles. At fourteen she was hired by Walt Disney Studios as a dance model for animated films, providing movement for Snow White in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) and later for the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio and Hyacinth Hippo in Fantasia. In the 1940s and 1950s she danced in MGM musicals, including Show Boat (1951) and Give a Girl a Break (1953), and in 1957 she had her own television song and dance show. On Broadway she appeared in What's Up, Dark of the Moon, Beggar's Holiday, and Follies. Her choreography for Queen of the Stardust Ballroom earned an Emmy Award, and she received the Disney Legends Award in 2007. She died in 2020.
