Margaret Bowman
Biography
Margaret Bowman was an American actress who took up acting in her 50s, first taking classes at a local YMCA and then being accepted at the Pasadena campus of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She began in musical theater in Nashville, Tennessee, and at Stages Repertory Theater in Houston, Texas, before moving into film and television as a character actor. She made her screen debut in The Fulfillment of Mary Gray (1989) as Mrs. Flora Hawkins, then worked mostly in bit parts, among them Old Nanny in A Woman of Independent Means (1995) and Fat Lady in The Lone Ranger (2013). Tommy Lee Jones cast her in his 1995 TNT movie The Good Old Boys and described her work as exquisite. In Hell or High Water (2016), a critically acclaimed film, she played the T-Bone Waitress, a performance the Houston Chronicle called scene-stealing. She died in 2018.
