Marcus Chong

Marcus Chong is an American actor who started performing as a child and is best known for playing Tank in The Matrix (1999). Born in Seattle, he began acting at nine and landed his first part in the 1979 miniseries Roots: The Next Generations, later guesting on Little House on the Prairie. On Broadway he created the role of student Lee Cortez in Stand-Up Tragedy, work that brought him a 1991 Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk nomination for featured actor in a play. He played Miguel Mendez on Street Justice from 1991 to 1993, Huey P. Newton in Panther (1995) and Fu Qua Johnson in Vanishing Son, and took guest roles on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Numb3rs and Burn Notice. His final feature was The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005), followed by several short films.
