Leif Tilden
Biography
Leif Tilden is an American actor and filmmaker who grew up in Berkeley, California after being born in Boston, Massachusetts. At 18 he moved to New York City, where he studied dance, film and experimental theater at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. He helped found the Fragile Anchor Theatre Company on the Lower East Side and belonged to the Manhattan Class Company, and he worked with stage directors such as Joseph Chaikin, Robert Wilson and Anne Bogart. He played Donatello in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991), then took part in several projects for the Jim Henson Company. In Sweden he later studied under the cinematographer Sven Nykvist. He wrote and directed the short film biglove, shown at the Sundance Film Festival, and made his directing debut with Life at These Speeds.
