Lawrence Grant

Biography

Lawrence Grant was an English actor, and it was chiefly in supporting roles that he became known on screen. Born Percy Reginald Lawrence-Grant in Bournemouth on October 30, 1870, he died in 1952. The films with which his name was closely linked included The Living Ghost (1942), Shanghai Express (1932), The Mask of Fu Manchu (1932) and Son of Frankenstein (1939), along with I'll Tell the World. In each of those pictures he was a supporting player rather than the leading one, and such parts were the ones for which he was best known. Grant was also the host of the 4th Academy Awards ceremonies, which took place in 1931.
