Big break
A casting director on Yorgos Lanthimos' The Favourite urged Davidson to try out for the part of Will, and he went through several rounds of auditions.
Big break
In January 2016, while in his last year at LAMDA, Davidson learned he had been cast in Will. He had been due to play Tevye in a school staging of Fiddler on the Roof, but he left it to film the show's pilot.
Getting ready for a role
For his modern take on Shakespeare, Davidson drew inspiration from Straight Outta Compton and 8 Mile rather than Joseph Fiennes in Shakespeare in Love, following the advice of director Shekhar Kapur.
First role
After arriving at LAMDA, Davidson earned a part in Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, and it was there that his agent first noticed him.
