Lamont Bentley

Lamont Bentley was an American actor and rapper who was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He dropped out of high school to pursue acting and, after early work in commercials and guest spots on television series, landed a role in 1994 on South Central, the short-lived but critically acclaimed series. His first feature film followed in 1995, playing Crazy K in the horror anthology Tales from the Hood. South Central's creator, Ralph Farquhar, then cast him as Hakeem Campbell on the UPN sitcom Moesha, which ran for six seasons. Bentley also pursued a career as a rapper with the group UPRIZE. His later screen work included C-Money in The Wash (2001), Tupac Shakur in Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story, a television biopic, and a part in Spike Lee's Sucker Free City (2004), one of his last onscreen appearances.
