Kurt Braunohler
Biography
Kurt Braunohler is an American comedian who came up through street comedy and improv before moving into standup, podcasts, and television. Born in Neptune Township, he began with the performance project Kurtbot and the street theater project Chengwin, and in 2004 started the Neutrino Video Projects, which won improv ensemble of the year at the Chicago Improv Festival and later played the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He co-hosted Hot Tub with Kristen Schaal, hosted the IFC game show Bunk, and has voiced characters on Bob's Burgers. He appears in The Big Sick (2017) and released the comedy album How Do I Land? Variety named him one of its comics to watch in 2012, and he co-hosts the podcast Bananas.

Getting ready for a role
To promote the album, Braunohler hired a professional pilot who skywrote "How Do I Land?" over Southern California. The stunt came from a $4,000 Kickstarter campaign that succeeded in March 2013.
First role
Kurtbot, a performance project involving street comedy sketches and a website, came first for Braunohler. The street theater project Chengwin brought him more success afterward.
Beyond film
Hot Tub, which Braunohler started co-hosting with Kristen Schaal in 2005, earned the title "Best Variety Show of 2005" from a reader poll run by Time Out NY.
