Tell Your Friends! The Concert Film! (2011) on Netflix

Plot summary

Liam McEneaney created Tell Your Friends!, a weekly comedy show, and he hosts the film version and interviews the headliners. Christian Finnegan, Leo Allen, Kurt Braunohler, Kristen Schaal, Rob Paravonian and Reggie Watts are among the comedians who appear. They came out of the rock clubs of Lower Manhattan to perform, and the film traces their move from bar basements toward mainstream entertainment. Behind the scenes footage and interviews follow the routes these performers took toward breakout success. Music comes from A Brief View of the Hudson, the show's resident house band, and the film includes a backstage pass to the show.
