Keith Larsen

Biography

Keith Larsen was an American actor who worked mainly in television and film, often in western and adventure roles. Born in Salt Lake City in 1924, he served in the Navy during World War II and then took up stage acting in Santa Monica, California. After a small uncredited part in Operation Pacific (1951), he appeared in Flat Top (1952) and Son of Belle Starr (1953). He starred in four weekly television series: The Hunter (1954), Brave Eagle (1955), Northwest Passage (1958), and The Aquanauts (1960). In Brave Eagle he played a peaceful Cheyenne chief, and in Northwest Passage he was Major Robert Rogers. His later films included Women of the Prehistoric Planet (1966), and he began directing with Mission Batangas, also acting in The Omegans (1968) and Night of the Witches (1970). He directed and produced some of these films, and his last appearance was in Young and Free (1979). He died in 2006.

Behind the camera
Larsen's later acting credits included Women of the Prehistoric Planet in 1966 and three films shot in the Philippines, among them Caxambu! and Mission Batangas, where he also started directing.
