Kathy Garver
Biography
Kathy Garver is an American actress, born in Long Beach, California, who began performing as a child at Hollywood's Meglin Studios before Cecil B. DeMille noticed her on the set of The Ten Commandments (1956) and wrote her into the film. She had small parts in The Bad Seed (1956) and I'll Cry Tomorrow, and did radio voice work in the 1950s. Her signature role came in 1966, when she won the part of Cissy Davis, the eldest sibling on the CBS sitcom Family Affair, which ran for five seasons. She later voiced Firestar on Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (1981 to 1983) and has lent her voice to commercials, toys, and audiobooks, winning two Audie Awards. Her screen credits include The Princess Diaries, Unleashed (2017), and Old Man Jackson (2023), along with stage work in plays and musicals.

Big break
During the filming of The Ten Commandments, director Cecil B. DeMille noticed Garver, who had been cast as an extra, and wrote her into the movie.
Beyond film
In 1969, Garver put out a Christmas song titled "Lem, the Orphan Reindeer." Bell Records handled distribution for the release, which came out on the Aquarian label.
Behind the camera
For Smarty Pants, Inc., Garver took on producing and narrating duties, wrote the lyrics and composed the music for eight Beatrix Potter audio tales plus eight Mother Goose audiotapes.
