Julia Bache-Wiig
Biography
Julia Bache-Wiig is a Norwegian actress who grew up in Eivindvik, a village on the west coast of Norway. She got her start on screen in 2006 with the short film Heartcut, which Anne Sewitsky directed, and she also appeared in the NRK drama series Størst av alt while she was studying acting. Roles in Norwegian features followed, among them Max Manus: Man of War (2008), A Somewhat Gentle Man (2010) and Turn Me On, Dammit! (2011). She starred alongside Liv Ullmann and Juliane Köhler in the German and Norwegian co-production Two Lives (2012), which was shortlisted for the foreign-language Oscar. The part of Thyra in The Last Kingdom, the BBC and Carnival Films adaptation of Bernard Cornwell's books, brought her wider recognition, and in 2015 she played Aase in the Norwegian television drama Aquitted. She has also taken leading roles on stage.
