Jon Provost

Jon Provost is an American actor who was born in Los Angeles and started acting as a child. At four he was cast in The Country Girl (1954), and he later appeared in Back from Eternity (1956) and Escapade in Japan (1957). In 1957 he won the role of Timmy Martin on the CBS television series Lassie, joining as a co-star before the show was reworked around his character. He played Timmy for seven seasons, from 1957 to 1964, then chose not to renew his contract at fourteen. Later screen credits included This Property Is Condemned (1966) with Natalie Wood and Robert Redford and The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1969) with Kurt Russell. He returned to television in 1989 on The New Lassie as Steve McCullough, received a Young Artist Foundation lifetime achievement honor in 1990, and received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 1994. His memoir appeared in 2007.
