Jon Park

Did you know?!

1. A first

In 2016 Park put out the music video "Safe." It drew wide notice for placing his own face over those of white actors in well-known movie scenes, aiming to highlight that no East Asian or East Asian American actors were at the Oscars.

2. Early training

Park was fourteen years old when he began rapping. He drew some inspiration from the rappers who performed every week at Project Blowed, an open-microphone workshop in his area.

3. A change of course

Jon Park had a number of odd jobs before he became a full-time rapper, and one of them was working as a bail bondsman.

4. A first

In 2015, Park said he was coming back to battle rap and took part in King of the Dot Blackout 5, an event held by Drake and OVO. He faced Conceited, a Wild 'n Out cast member, in a battle that became the year's most watched English rap battle.

5. A first

Park's Jam Session 2.0, a viral video, was featured on NBC. It brought together eight musicians from different countries, each taking a turn in a split screen while playing together on a single track.
