Jeff Wincott

Biography

Jeff Wincott is a Canadian actor and martial artist known to television audiences for playing Frank Giambone, the impulsive detective at the center of Night Heat. Raised in Toronto, he took up taekwondo as a teenager and studied acting at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute before early television work on King of Kensington and The Littlest Hobo. His early film work included Prom Night (1980) and The Boy in Blue (1986). Night Heat, which he joined in 1984, also aired on CBS and became the first Canadian-produced drama to be carried by an American network. Through the 1990s he led martial arts action pictures including Martial Law II: Undercover (1991), Mission of Justice (1992), Martial Outlaw (1993) and Future Fear (1997), and in 1996 Black Belt magazine named him a martial arts movie star of the future. He later turned up in The Invasion (2007), Unstoppable (2010), 24, Sons of Anarchy, Blue Bloods and The Night Of.
