A role that slipped away
Souther turned down the chance to join the Eagles. Instead, he signed with David Geffen's Asylum label and made his first solo studio album under his own name.
A change of course
At the end of the 1980s, Souther stepped away from music for over twenty years. He came back to recording in 2008, putting out If the World Was You, an album made with a jazz band and his first new studio release in almost 25 years.
