Janice Karman
Biography
Janice Karman is an American voice actress, singer and filmmaker who also works as a designer. She was born in Los Angeles, California, and her screen roles include Bunny in Switchblade Sisters (1975) and Hank in the exploitation film Slumber Party '57. As co-owner of Bagdasarian Productions, she helps produce records and cartoons, and the company's output centers on the Alvin and the Chipmunks characters created by Ross Bagdasarian Sr. Karman supplies the singing voices of Theodore and of the Chipettes, Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor, and in 2015 she took over the voice of Miss Beatrice Miller from Dody Goodman. In 1983 she worked as a writer and producer on a Chipmunks adaptation of the Christmas Carol, and she voiced La-Lu in Little Alvin and the Mini-Munks. She voiced Theodore in the film series as well, though for promotional reasons his lines were re-recorded by Jesse McCartney, while her singing was kept.
