Biography

Helen Flint was an American actress who built her career on Broadway before moving into films. Born in Chicago, she was inspired to act by her aunt, the stage actress Dorothy Dorr, who also helped her find work in New York. Flint began as a chorus member in the Ziegfeld Follies at 17 and later took part in more than 20 Broadway productions between 1921 and 1946, and she worked as a model as well. She made more than 20 films between 1931 and 1944, often cast as seedy or sexually available women, among them Ah, Wilderness! and Black Legion (1937). She played the fortune-hunting actress Minna Tipton in David O. Selznick's production of Little Lord Fauntleroy (1936). Her last acting work was in the comedy The Dancer, staged in New York in 1953. She died in 1967.
