Graham Moffatt

Graham Moffatt was an English actor known for comic character parts. Born in Hammersmith, West London, in 1919, he began at Shepherd's Bush Studios as a call boy. Tom Walls spotted him there and gave him a small role in A Cup of Kindness (1934). After several minor, often uncredited appearances, he found his break in Will Hay's films. His first with Hay was Where There's a Will (1936), playing an office boy, and in Windbag the Sailor (1936) Moore Marriott joined him as his character became Albert. He played Albert again in Oh, Mr. Porter! (1937) and other Hay and Marriott comedies. With Marriott, he also appeared as Albert in Arthur Askey films such as Charley's (Big-Hearted) Aunt (1940). Later credits included A Canterbury Tale and I Know Where I'm Going!, both from Powell and Pressburger, and he made occasional minor film appearances, the last in 80,000 Suspects (1963).
