Gerry Sundquist

Gerry Sundquist was an actor who grew up in Chorlton, Manchester, and first became interested in acting at primary school, joining the Stretford Children's Theatre. After leaving school at 16 he worked briefly at a Kellogg's factory before moving to London to pursue acting. His breakthrough came in 1974 with the Granada serial Soldier & Me, followed by The Siege of Golden Hill in 1975. On stage he appeared with the Young Vic and played Alan Strang in John Dexter's National Theatre production of Equus in 1976. On television and in film he appeared in Space 1999, Music Machine and The Mallens, and he played Pip in the BBC's 1981 adaptation of Great Expectations. He also appeared in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Last Days of Pompeii, and Don't Open Till Christmas (1984). His final television appearance was in a 1992 episode of The Bill. He died in 1993.
