Geretta Geretta
Biography
Geretta Geretta is an American actress, writer and director who started out performing in New York on off-off Broadway stages, at Theatre For The New City and with the improv group Rusty Nails. She was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and first became interested in acting at school. She then spent more than ten years in Italy, where she appeared in over twenty feature films, among them Smithereens (1982) and Demons (1985), as well as Rats: Night of Terror (1984). Demons was directed by Lamberto Bava and produced by Dario Argento. Wanting to work behind the camera, she studied screenwriting at the American Film Institute and made shorts including When Fish Fly and Love To Share. Her first feature, Sweetiecakes (2001), was completed in Switzerland and won a Best Female Director award at the Melbourne Underground Festival in 2002. She later finished Whitepaddy (2006).
