Biography

Geraint Wyn Davies is a Welsh-born stage, film and television actor who was educated in Canada. Born in Swansea, he studied economics at the University of Western Ontario before leaving to pursue acting, and made his professional stage debut in 1976 in Quebec City at the age of 19. He went on to work with theaters in Britain and Canada, including Theatr Clwyd and the Chichester Festival, and won a Regional Theatre Best Actor award for Hamlet. He became best known as Nick Knight, the vampire turned police detective in the Canadian series Forever Knight, and later appeared in Airwolf, Black Harbour, Slings and Arrows, 24 and ReGenesis, while also directing episodes of Forever Knight and other shows. In 2004 he won a Helen Hayes Award for his Cyrano de Bergerac in Washington, D.C.

In April 1996, Davies played Petruchio in The Taming of The Shrew, directed by Patrick Tucker of the Original Shakespeare Company. The three-performance run used little rehearsal, mixed costumes, and rotating roles, as Shakespeare's own players may have done.
