Dusty Anderson

Dusty Anderson was an American model and actress whose screen career belonged to the 1940s. Born in Toledo, Ohio, she started out posing for photographers and then broke into movies with a small part in Columbia Pictures' Cover Girl (1944), playing one of the magazine models alongside Rita Hayworth. Columbia had used fifteen models in that production and handed contracts to just two of them, Betty Jane Graham and Anderson. She went on to appear in eight further films over three years, mostly in supporting parts: minor work in the studio's bigger pictures and lead assignments in its cheaper ones, including The Crime Doctor's Warning (1945) with the Crime Doctor series, The Phantom Thief (1946) with Boston Blackie and Singing on the Trail (1946) with the Hoosier Hot Shots. During the Second World War she also posed as a pin-up, and her photographs ran in Yank, the military magazine, in October 1944. She died in 2007.
